Ronald Mitchell will:

Not only support legislation to provide transit benefits for federal employees, but also include parking vouchers to augment the benefit of the program.  And, explore other methods to increase monthly federal allocation.

    * Provide safe havens for efficient carpooling by devising a computer application to register potential carpool candidates to enhance safety standards and efficiency.  This will enable the region to adequately promote the concept of carpooling, while maintaining an accurate account of the number of citizens that carpool and geographical concentration of the highest number of carpool participates.

    * Support the Metro Rail initiative to Dulles Airport.  Ronald believes this is a necessary undertaking to alleviate congestion and promote economic development.  Additionally, this will grant residents the opportunity to secure jobs in a variety of locations without transportation concerns.

Ronald Mitchell concurs with present transit initiatives. However, he believes a prudent assessment of routing and ridership is warranted to adequately ascertain the efficiency of the current system.  Consequently, this will ensure that informed decisions are being made on regular and consistent basis for the betterment of the citizens of the 8th Congressional district.
