Ronald Mitchell on Healthcare

It is imperative that health care is reformed, Americans have been subjected to two alternatives; a high tax healthcare system run by the government or an industry filled with insurance companies operating under few restrictions. Ronald Mitchell believes that current options available are not beneficial for residents of the 8th district of Virginia. Ronald Mitchell is serious about supporting a plan to strengthen employer coverage, makes insurance companies accountable, and help patients chose a doctor and care with little interference from the government.

All Americans need a plan that will provide quality, affordable and accessible health care that will better our current health care system, and allow citizens to employ existing providers, doctors and plans to excel. Ronald Mitchell believes that patients should be able to make health care decisions with their doctors, instead of being blocked by insurance company bureaucrats.

Ronald Mitchell believes that health care is the right of every citizen of the United States.  It is my solemn duty to ensure each citizen has access to affordable, accessible, and efficacious health care.

    * Ronald Mitchell concurs with the notion of preventable health care; it is important that we as elected leaders take a proactive approach to funding nonprofit organizations that provide services to the underserved population.

    * Ronald Mitchell supports stem cell research, as this critical work will help eradicate a multitude of diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.  This is a vitally important undertaking to enhance the vitality and quality of life of our citizenry.

    * He also recognizes the disparities in the treatment of mental health and will vigorously fight for better access to treatment and resources to serve this population.  Namely, by crafting legislation to ensure insurance companies provide a sufficient infrastructure to reimburse providers and offer ample coverage to patients.  Furthermore, he will explore methods and strategies to repay mental health professionals’ tuition for devoting time to the underserved population.

Ronald Mitchell will work to create instruments and mechanisms to evaluate the disbursement of health care dollars.  He believes, this will provide transparency and make certain funds are being allocated in the most efficient manner.
